I noticed that sometimes it is the smallest things that make differences in life. Like for example, I cleaned out my closet a few weeks back. I decided to get rid of a lot of clothes. I took all the hanging clothes out and only put back the ones I know I'll wear. But I put them back in color order, meaning the reds together, the blues together, etc. I had heard of this method but thought it was just to make your clothes look cool. Not so. It makes it so much quicker to find things! If I know I want that certain black top I just look in the blacks. Or if I'm not sure what to wear but I know it needs to be a certain shade I just look through those shades. So much easier! Why did it take me this long to try that?
Another life changer - my husband let me convince him to start wearing only jeans to work. He has worn dress pants since he became a dentist 16 years ago. I have been ironing daily outfits all that time! Exhausting! But we decided that the new "dressy casual" for men is jeans and nice shoes and shirts. He likes the dressy t-shirts that don't have collars to get messed up under his smock. What does your dentist wear? Do you think jeans will turn people off? So far the reaction from patients has been positive. I think he looks nice, and I'm happy about the ironing break!
I tried paint with primer mixed in for the first time on a bedroom and some bedroom furniture. With Brady gone we are changing people and rooms around a little. The paint with primer saved a huge step and so far has held up really well! Every little bit of time helps!
I have decided that "stuff" can be smothering. I have let myself get too much stuff. I've heard that you spend the first half of your life accumulating stuff, and the second half getting rid of stuff. I must have crossed over into the second half of my life because I want less stuff! I almost wish I was moving so I would be forced to go through all my stuff, but I'll just have to do it on my own. We are having a yard sale on Saturday to get the ball rolling. I told Colby if he would set it up and run it I'll give him half of what we make. So come on by and make some of my stuff your stuff!

Way too go bev. I think I am at the getting rid of stuff point in my life. I Just need to get up off the couch and do it, ( and shop less) good luck on your garage sale!
I started color coding my clothes a little while ago and it's great, makes getting dressed much easier! I also use the paint with primer and I love it! I'm pretty tired of ironing pants too, but I don't think I'll have success on convincing him to wear jeans. So I just try and take them out of the dryer super pronto when they're done so maybe I can get away without ironing. He who dies with the most stuff wins, right? I don't think I want to win. Sometimes simplicity is best.
Ok, I am about to paint my kitchen so please, please tell me how to do the primer thing with the paint. How much and does it change the color when you do the second coat. I am painting an off white over maroon.
OK I have never even thought to color coordinate my clothes, I will have to try that, my closet could use some dejunking, good idea. Bev you keep inspiring me with all that you are doing. Are you still relief society president? Where do you find the time and energy. I get rid of stuff, all the time but I love to go thrifting to just get more stuff, crazy.
