LIZARDBUMP
A little girl, youngest of the family, living on a farm with a haystack to make playhouses in, carrying all her dolls and some toys to the big barn. Too little to move the bales of hay, so playhouses were made as they stood. Playmates: Patsy, Joy, and Bessie Hill and nieces Earlene and Beth. A shed - or playhouse in the back yard to make another playhouse in. It even had an upstairs, reached by climbing a ladder. The little girl was always June Allison with her husband being Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart. Little couches and chairs and some furniture, even if they were wooden crates. It was a little piece of heaven. There were mesquite trees to play under and hills to climb. What there wasn't ----- T.V., Cell Phones,Videos, I Pods, you get the idea. But there was oodles of imagination. We could be anyone we wanted, and we roamed wherever we wanted. Under the bridge down the road was another favorite, because it was cooler there. The heat didn't matter much, because there was no refrigeration or cooler in the house. People had to be tough, and just endure. Everyone sat outside in their yards at night, enjoying the night air and the stars. Hide and seek, kick the can, or just visiting were favorite activities. And often beds were moved outside, under a tree. Turkies, chickens, dogs and cats roamed the yard. And if we were lucky, once in a while, we went to the mountains for a picnic, and then to the Hot Springs when we came back down. These are the memories that live in the mind of that little girl who now has girls and little grandaughters of her own. I hope they have good memories of their summers.

Those are good memories to have. Can't imagine no A/C though.
Kids can't even begin to understand some of those things these days.
